About this site...

The title says it all, these pages are strictly dedicated to my own C# library for accessing IOWarriors on Windows.

If you came here looking for basic information about the IOWarrior please refer to the homepage of Code Mercenaries Hard- und Software GmbH, the company that produces the chip. They provide Software Development Kits, datasheets and a link-list for all of their products.

There is also a quite active forum (in english and german) where you can place questions directly to the developers or other users of the IOWarrior.

Note:
For readability I will use the term CodeMercs from now on when referring to "Code Mercenaries Hard- und Software GmbH"

About the CsIow-Library...

When I started writing applications for the IOWarrior on Windows I used the IowKit-Library from the SDK provided by CodeMercs. But soon I realized that it wasn't up to my needs and I decided to go for something completely different.

I ended up with a new library that provides

Dynamic plug/unplug notification for IOWarriors through callback-functions
Dynamic data notification through callback-functions
Optional filtering for specific IOWarriors
Optional filtering of reports
an Open source, non-restrictive license

The library is written in C# but could be used from other .NET languages as long as your applications can deal with the following restrictions

The Operating System must be WindowsXP or newer. There is no support for Windows98,NT,ME etc.
Applications need to have the .NET Framework 2.0 installed
You can only create Windows.Forms applications. There is no and never will be support for pure Console applications.

If you're still interested, you might want to have a look at the documentation for the library CsIowDoc.pdf. The source code for the library and a simple demo are to be found in the Download-section of this site.

To VisualBasic developers I'm sorry, but I never wrote a line of code in that language. So I will not be able to give any advice if your request is by any means related to that language.

Please, do not post questions concerning the CsIow-Library to the CodeMercs-Forum for the IOWarrior. This forum is dedicated to the SDK's distributed by the CodeMercs-Team and general questions about the IOWarrior.

I will add a FAQ-section to this site, as soon as I receive requests for topics of general interest.
